Privacy, Unlearning, and Robust Engineering
AdvisorProfessor Seungmin Rho
PURE Lab conducts research on safely removing sensitive or unnecessary information learned by artificial intelligence and on building AI systems that are trustworthy while protecting personal information. Centering on machine unlearning, privacy-preserving AI, and robust AI engineering, the lab addresses the security, safety, and reliability of both data and models. In particular, it develops theory and technology for responding to real-world risks such as privacy breaches, adversarial attacks, data deletion requests, and the misuse of generative AI.
AdvisorProfessor Jinyoung Min
This lab analyzes a wide range of data using statistical methods and machine learning, and uses the results to help companies and governments establish security strategies and policies. It pursues a direction that makes "security a source of value rather than a cost," and examines technological progress that does not infringe on privacy as well as the values people should uphold in an age of technology. Its main research topics include the strategic link between security and corporate value creation and the sociotechnical dynamics through which new technologies affect social structures.
Cyber-Physical System Security Lab
AdvisorProfessor Jaewoo Lee
The lab approaches the convergence of AI and devices from a systems perspective to study efficient applications, and aims to build systems that can be applied in industry rather than remaining purely academic. Its main topics are cyber-physical systems (CPS), machine learning security and autonomous driving, and mixed-criticality embedded systems. It carries out a range of national and industry-academic projects, including connected cars and vehicle digital twins, smart energy cities, and autonomous driving platforms.
AdvisorProfessor Jung Lee
We work through questions together on the use of agentic AI and on research security.
AdvisorProfessor Dongchul Park
Our lab looks for systems-level answers to processing large volumes of data faster and more efficiently. From big data software platforms, distributed and edge computing systems for AI inference, and applications of high-performance memory-based storage systems, to the security technologies that protect them, we study a range of next-generation core technologies built on big data and computing systems.
AdvisorProfessor Julak Lee
Security management and risk management form the two core pillars of our research, encompassing a wide range of areas, including physical security, cybercrime, financial crime, and business continuity management. Drawing on internationally recognized professional certifications and expertise—including CPP, PSP, PCI, CPOI, CFE, PMI-RMP, CISA, and CIA—we integrate academic research with professional practice in the fields of security and risk management. Our goal is to cultivate globally competent security professionals capable of responding effectively to complex security threats.
